Stonechats (Saxicola torquata)

We had a morning out on Beachy Head a couple of days ago and managed to snap a few Stonechats.  The Latin name is Saxicola torquata.  Very cool little birds & you can usually hear them singing away, sounding much like a couple of stones being knocked together.  If I had my brains with me I guess I could have taken a little video, maybe next time.

I love the backgrounds you can get while taking pictures of Stonechats etc. on Beachy head.

Great photos you got, I’m surprised they sat still long enough for you to focus the lens and get a clear shot
