2017 roundup

So thats it then, another year done with. Here’s a little collection of some of my slightly more memorable moments.

1st up was one of the Short eared owls that had been loitering around the Pevensey Levels for a couple of months, so far this year we’ve not seen as many but who knows what will happen in Jan.  Now i’m not sure if the next pic would appeal to a huge group of the general public but its not everyday that you can photograph a crab inside the anus of a sea cucumber.  Yep, thats right, that little crab lives right inside the cucumber. God knows what either of them get out of it but live & let live huh, who am I to argue who lives where.  Sport Diver liked the pic too. for their article here .And I guess, that I should stop right there, as surely my creativity surely peaked on that dive in January.  I managed to drag my carcass out of bed for a few early morning shots one of which was the  misty sunrise overlooking the Pevensey Level, and one thing I like to do is get Fenster the bearded dragon working for his keep, he’s happy to pose as long as the sun shines & its proof for me that we did actually get a summer of sorts.  The sparrowhawk is a fairly regular visitor around here while the Weasel was up on Beachy Head, so if anybody was up there in the summer & saw me lying on the floor squeaking like an idiot, thats why! The Smooth coated otter is one from a family that lives around Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, its amazing how well they’ve established themselves in the city.  Last up is a common seal & a Black Guillemot both taken in Dec in Eastbourne, now the funny thing is, most people when they see me think im a birder, im not, I went to photograph the seal. No other reason.  So I was almost shamed into taking pictures of the Guillemot, think it turned out ok!

Thats your lot then, see ya next year!
